Snyder Avenue Congregational Church is located at the corner of 3rd Street and Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia in a neighborhood full of families. The church is about 108 years in age and has many beautiful stained glass windows in the main sanctuary. We have a unique ministry opportunity in that, besides our congregation there are also a Cambodian and an Indonesian congregation that meet at different times. Our main worship service is at 11am on Sunday mornings in our more intimate sanctuary. Enter through the Snyder Avenue side door, with the cross shaped windows, and bear slightly right once inside to find us. This is actually the original sanctuary, the larger part was added a number of years later.
We combine the use of both traditional hymns and newer praise songs in our worship. As long as it praises Jesus, we’ll sing it! We also have a number of programs such Sunday School, Bible Study, and Praise Team. One of the strongest aspects of our church, however, is the family atmosphere. There is a lot of love at this church and after attending a couple services, you’ll feel like family.
